Big Data Engineer | Full-time contract | Athens - GR


Your daily work routine will include:


  • Feature implementation and maintenance of our distributed big data analytics platform;
  • Translate complex business requirements to technical implementation according to the platform’s architecture;
  • Collaborate with team members of a wide background (technical and business).

    Requirements

    • At least 5 years of proven experience and solid knowledge in the area of Information Technology in large scale projects;
    • Advanced knowledge and experience in the following:
      • Big data processing and data modeling (semantic integration);
      • Apache Spark knowledge is essential. Python is preferable, but other languages (i.e., Java/Scala) are also used;
      • Other Big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Hive. Experience on Hortonworks distribution will be considered an asset;
      • Relational databases;
      • Graph databases, for example Neo4j;
      • Linux operating systems,
    • Understanding of data analytics systems, including analytics methodologies, algorithms and workflows;
    • Performance optimization of Apache Spark applications;
    • Knowledge and experience in data governance and metadata management;
    • Understanding of Agile Software Development methodologies;
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (B2 or higher);
    • Good team spirit and accountable for working in a multi-cultural and international environment;
    • Fulfilled military obligations.
