For our customer, an EU institution based in Brussels, we are looking for a Business Intelligence Expert

Responsibilities: 

• Creation and maintenance of Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW) and complex Business Intelligence Solutions (Data Lakes / Data Lakehouses). 
• Designing architectures both on the cloud and on premises (whether hosting or cloud on-premises) or combination of both (hybrid).
• Gathering business requirements.
• Designing ETL processes.
• Data virtualization.
• Data modelling.
• Design and development of reporting applications
• Providing of advice and assistance, solution patterns and best practices as data scientist
• Defining and building a AWS Quicksight that would serve to disseminate dashboards and reports based on all fisheries control systems
• Integrate Quicksight dashboard into AWS-built applications
• Put in place a pipeline for the Quicksight dashboard
• Make sure the Quicksight reports are using the authorizations put in place in the AWS applications
• Provide assistance with AWS location service and its integration in Quicksight reports.
• Generating documentation about reporting architecture/environment put in place
• Identifying the data-analytics problems that offer the greatest opportunities to the organization and create solutions that enable enhanced business performance
• Collecting large sets of structured and unstructured data from disparate sources
• Analyzing the data to identify patterns and trends
• Interpreting the data to discover solutions and opportunities
• Using a wide variety of tools, including Qlik Sense, Excel, SQL, PL/SQL
• Building data visualizations in an attractive and innovative ways for managers, operational users and citizens
• Communicating findings to internal and external stakeholders using visualization and other means

Following knowledge and skills are mandatory for the performance of tasks:

• Good knowledge in business intelligence

• Good analytical skills to go through large amounts of data and analyze them.

• Deep knowledge of analysis/modelling tools and techniques (entity relationship model etc.)

• Deep knowledge of AWS Quicksight, SQL language, PL-SQL, XML, Oracle and Excel

• Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, very good communication skills

• Strong capacity to give high level presentations

• Excellent knowledge of data warehouse design & architecture.

• Good knowledge of data lake/data lakehouse design and architecture.

• Excellent knowledge of relational database systems applied to data warehouse.

• Knowledge of non-relational database technologies.

• Excellent knowledge of SQL.

• Excellent knowledge of business intelligence reporting tools.

• Excellent knowledge of ETL tools.

• Excellent knowledge of modelling tools.

• Excellent knowledge of online analytical data processing (OLAP) and data mining tools.

• Knowledge of near real time data warehousing and/or change data capture technologies.

Following specific expertise is mandatory for the performance of tasks:
