YOUR MISSION 

As a DevOps Engineer you will be part of our dynamic and an innovative team which forms the beating heart of our Infrastructure Services, managing over 7000 servers. 

In a true DevOps spirit your responsibilities will be twofold and consist in:  

  1. Partially running the production environments of our clients as a System Engineer.

  1. Partially improving the reliability and quality of our operations by automating manual tasks.  

As a DevOps Engineer you will work mainly in the following domains: network, hardware, virtualization (VMWare), container platforms (Open Shift, EKS, AKS), Microsoft, Azure, Office 365 and authentication systems. 

Your main responsibilities: 

  • Optimising and automating the administration and operating processes.

  • Proposing ideas and solutions within the infrastructure team to reduce the workload by automation. 

  • Participating in the setup and migration of infrastructure projects.

  • Performing technical life cycle tasks and reviewing new solutions.

  • Automate infrastructure management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible, …). 

  • Manage containerization and orchestration solutions.

  • Strengthen infrastructure and CI/CD security by applying best practices (IAM, RBAC, SAST/DAST). 

  • Drafting and updating the necessary operating documentation, plans and/or diagrams and procedures.

  • Setting up of the operational dashboards and reporting.  

  • Resolving service requests, incidents and problems related to automation tasks in the enumerated domains here above.

  • Provide support and technical expertise to your colleagues and to the customers.

  • Automating away manual tasks.

  • VMware: VMware vSphere and other products (vCloud, vRealize, Aria Automation, …) 

  • Microsoft: Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Service Center Orchestrator, Office 365 

  • Linux: RedHat, SuSE, CentOS… 

  • Network: switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers from CISCO, PaloAlto, F5… 

  • Public Clouds: Azure, AWS and IBM Public Cloud 

  • Container platforms: Kubernetes, Openshift, EKS, AKS 

  • Development languages: Powershell, Python, SQL, Ansible, JavaScript, … 

  • IaC declarative languages: Terraform, Cloud Formation, Bicep 

  • Development/DevOps tools: GitHub/Gitlab, JIRA, Jenkins… 

  • Keycloak 

Job requirements

  • Bachelor or master’s in computer sciences, or equivalent experience in IT.

  • Working knowledge of French and English is a must and mastering Dutch is a plus.

  • Think about systems - edge cases, failure modes, behaviours and specific implementations.

  • Know your way around in Windows system administration.

  • Understand network concepts such as switches, routers, firewalls and load balancers.

  • Good programming skills and knowledge of DevOps concepts.

  • Open to learn new technologies.

  • Have an urge to collaborate and communicate.

  • Have an urge to document all the content so you don't need to learn the same thing twice. 

  • Have an enthusiastic and go-for-it attitude. When you see something broken, you systematically have to fix it. 

  • Nice to have: good ITIL knowledge and the ability to assist in applying, developing and respecting ITIL processes.

  • Flexibility in work hours (on-call duty twice/year).
