Liferay developer | Full-time contract | Athens or remote - GR


Your daily work routine will include:


  • Design and develop testable front-end features for highly available web applications using Liferay and Java;
  • Build reusable code and libraries;
  • Optimize application for speed and scalability;
  • Support application delivery to multiple environments on a CI/CD fashion;
  • Draft technical documentation and implement proof-of-concept solutions to support design decisions;
  • Collaborate with other team members, including product managers, designers, back-end engineers, and senior stakeholders;
  • Provide substantial mentorship to less experienced colleagues, improving their skills, and making them more effective product software engineers;
  • Work in an environment, which appreciates diversity and you can prove high ethical standards;

Job requirements

  • University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related filed;
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on work experience with Liferay, including version 7+;
  • Relevant experience on Liferay hook and ext;
  • Portal/portlet development experience - using Liferay plugin and Liferay SDK. Preferrably using service builder;
  • Working experience with Liferay Themes, layouts, and Alloy UI;
  • Experience on Freemarker and Velocity templates;
  • Fluent in Java/J2EE Java web application development;
  • Hands-on experience in Hibernate and Web services;
  • Total IT development experience of 6+ years;
  • Experience with JavaScript, JSP, AJAX, jQuery, CSS, & XHTML;
  • Nice to have: relevant experience in database (preferably MS SQL Server); working experience with Spring; development/architecture experience with web infrastructure; experience in Jenkins, Sonar, Build Management (Gradle/Maven) and Junit and experience in setting up Tomcat.
  • Participation in Liferay migration from 6.2 to 7.2; knowledge of publication mechanism in Liferay 7.x and experience in React.js and Angular.js will be considered plus.
