Site Reliability Engineer | Full-time contract | Athens - GR


Your daily work routine will include:

  • Perform incident, service requests, problem and change management processes according to ITIL standards;
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis and troubleshooting in the IT toolchain (infrastructure, layer-7, layer-3/4);
  • Perform capacity planning, verify platform stability, propose performance optimizations and cost reductions;
  • Define SLIs/SLOs, embrace risk, eliminate toil, design monitoring using the SRE's 4 golden signals;
  • 24/7 Incident Response within established Service Level Agreement (SLA);
  • Participate in meetings with clients discussing and prioritizing any actions;
  • Contribute in the update and maintenance of the knowledge base;
  • Assist in training and development of internal resources and create relevant documentation for new issues;
  • Maintain awareness of and familiarity with trends and new developments in relevant technologies.

Job requirements

  • University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field, with at least one year of relevant experience;
  • Advanced expertise in Linux administration (RedHat);
  • Basic scripting and programming experience in one or more of the following languages: C++, Java, Bash, Perl, Python, Ruby;
  • Basic maintenance and experience of microservices either in Docker Swarm or K8S;
  • Basic maintenance and experience with Redis, Elasticsearch, KAFKA;
  • Basic maintenance and experience with TIG monitoring stack;
  • Basic maintenance and experience with ELK logging stack;
  • Basic maintenance and experience with RDBMS (Oracle, PostgreSQL);
  • Basic maintenance and experience with Java application servers (Jboss, Wildfly);
  • Basic experience with Jenkins for writing automation tasks;
  • Team spitit, technical documentation skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (B2 or higher);
  • Flexibility for travel and able to work in an international and multi-cultural environment;
  • Fulfilled military obligations (if applicable).

Considered as a plus if you have:

  • Knowledge of Business Impact Analysis elements (RPO, RTO, MTD, WRT, MTTR, MTBF);
  • Experience with Chef operations for VM configuration maintenance;
  • Understanding of the Agile Scrum framework;
  • Basic knowledge of MS Azure services;
  • Familiarity with the JVM ecosystem;
  • Experience with VMware virtualization;
  • Understanding of private and public cloud infrastructure;
  • Knowledge of F5 BIG-IP LTM.
