THE BACKGROUND

For our customer based in Brussels - a European Institution, we are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join a long-term mission in the area of document management, legislative lifecycle, and policy and administrative support.

YOUR MISSION

For the needs of the client, you need be based in the area of Brussels (~2 hours by ground transportation) to work on-site.

Your responsibilities will be as follows:

• Providing expertise for the IT strategy and the IS business architecture.

• Elaboration of functional and non-functional requirements and business case analysis.

• Performing business process analysis and business process modelling.

• Eliciting and specifying requirements with use cases.

• Drafting and reviewing use cases and other technical documents together with IT project staff to ensure business requirements will be adequately implemented.

• Following-up of tasks and providing quality assurance of implementation deliverables.

• Acting as a liaison between end users, technical analysts, information technology analysts, consultants and other organisations in the analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance of IT systems to ensure optimal operational performance.

• Working together with the users to perform functional requirements and business case analysis. Negotiating with the users the functionalities to be delivered.

• Identifying opportunities for improving business processes through information systems and/or non-system driver changes. Assisting in the preparation of proposals to develop new systems and/or operational changes.

• Assisting with the production of user acceptance plans, business cases and project charters.

• Providing work direction to technical staff and acts as a team lead on designated projects or assignments.

• Analysis of the integration of different information systems.

• Data analysis and data modelling.

• Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users.

• Assistance during relevant parts of testing, analysis, technical documentation, deployment, evaluation and reporting.

YOUR PROFILE

• University degree (BSc/MSc).

• Very good knowledge and experience in drafting functional / business use cases

Technical knowledge mastered or to be developed

• Very good knowledge and experience with UML.

• Good knowledge and experience with BPMN.

• Good knowledge and experience with modelling and analysis tools (e.g. Visio, Gliffy, Enterprise Architect).

• Knowledge and experience with Atlassian Confluence and Atlassian JIRA

• Knowledge and experience with UI mockup tools (e.g. Balsamiq)

• Knowledge and experience with Agile / SCRUM

• Knowledge relational database is an asset (e.g. MySQL, Oracle)

• Knowledge and experience with a project management methodology is an asset (e.g. PM², PMI, Prince2)

• Knowledge of an Object-Oriented programming language is an asset (e.g. Java, Python)

• Experience and knowledge with European Commission IT landscape is an asset.

• Experience in document and workflow based information systems is an asset.

• English C1 (French C1 is a bonus)
