Current role:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to work with one of our esteemed clients.

  • The project concerns the later phases of development of the in-house application SPVAL and specifically the digitalization and

enhancement of the in-house excel based valuation model for venture debt and direct equity valuations

  • Modelling the various calculation features of the valuation model using Python programming language

  • Prototyping the relevant model interfaces including both front-end and back-end data model in OutSystems platform for the purpose of

assisting the IT development team in developing such interfaces and data model into the SPVAL application via Java React

  • Develop and maintain ETL (extract, transform, load) pipelines

  • Using SQL for data validation and backend integrations

  • Engage and collaborate closely with business stakeholders notably the PROVAL unit to gather the requirements, understand the needs

and translate them into Python modelling and OutSystems prototypes

  • Follow up with IT development team to assist into integrating the Python modelling and explaining the OutSystems prototypes for the

ultimate development into SPVAL

  • Maintain thorough documentation of processes, analysis outcomes, and project decisions for future reference and auditing purposes,

including (Python) model documentation for the purpose of complying with the EIB’s Group Model Risk Policy and support the valuation

model validation process as necessary

  • Collaborate closely with the Product Owner, ensuring alignment of priorities across the project backlog and timely updates to

stakeholders

  • Maintain consistent communication with other impacted teams (e.g., Integration, DWH) to identify and address cross-functional

dependencies

  • Design test cases in collaboration with QA engineers to ensure coverage of all functional and non-functional requirements

  • Support the testing in conducting end-to-end scenarios for complex workflows (e.g., SWIFT imports, reconciliation processes)

Mandatory requirements:

  • Strong understanding and knowledge of modelling reporting universes and creating reports in Business Objects

  • Knowledge of Oracle SQL

  • Familiarity with data modelling best practices

  • Experience in working in English

  • Expertise in Python programming language

  • Lending or middle-office Applications (i.e. Guarantee Calls, Cash & Liquidity Management, Rate Setting, Advisory Services, Capital Markets, Provisioning & Valuation, Mandate Management)

  • Minimum of one year of working experience in project(s) requiring Python programming

  • Prior experience in International or European organizations
