For one of our main clients based in Brussels - an European Institution, we are looking for a Senior IT Business Analyst to join our team in the area of research and innovation. You will play a crucial role in supporting the innovation policies and decisions, enabling the successful implementation of the client's digital transformation and EU policies.


As IT Business Analyst, you will perform the following tasks:

  • Work within the agile process and support the Product Owner for decisions regarding priority, business value, and functionality for all the work done by the agile development team.
  • Analysis of Business requirements.
  • Documentation of Business requirements.
  • Create user stories and acceptance tests from themes and features granular enough for a single sprint/iteration.
  • When required, act as Product Owner and manage release plans and priorities.
  • Perform requirements gathering with big group of stakeholders.
  • Give proposals for project strategies, planning, definition of tasks and deliverables, review of project deliverables, quality control, risk analysis and management, status reports, problem reporting and management systems, follow up and organization.
  • Produce Business cases, Vision documents, Project Charters.
  • Business process analysis.
  • Propose solutions by combining IT tools and business process refactoring or improvements based on an in-depth understanding of a specific business domain.
  • Functional requirements and business cases analysis.
  • Working with EU legislation and extracting requirements from legal documents.
  • Assistance in Business cases, Vision documents, Project Charters, Security Plans and Support’s FAQ.
  • Writing User Manuals, Documentation and Wikis.
  • Interaction with the Product Owner, business analysts, customers, users, team coordinator and developers.
  • Be the liaison between business & development teams.
  • Support in transitioning from Project to Operations.
  • Risk analysis.

Job requirements

Are you the perfect match?

  • BSc/MSc degree
  • You should have at least 6 years of experience in IT/business analysis
  • At least 5 years of experience in performing analysis utilising use case specifications or user stories
  • At least 2 years of experience performing project management (Project Scheduling, Performance Tracking)
  • At least 5 years of experience in BPMN and UML or other with equivalent value
  • At least 3 years of experience in Agile toolbox (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, BigPicture, Balsamiq, etc)
  • At least 5 years of experience in Wiki and collaborative tools
  • Experience with SOA
  • Excellent English language proficiency
  • Capability to work effectively in a multicultural environment;
  • EU nationality/work permit in Belgium.


It will be nice if you have...

  • PM2-Agile certification
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
  • Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO)
  • SAFe Product Owner or other SAFe certifications.


*The mode of work is hybrid from Belgium, if not based in Belgium, relocation will be required.
